KOOV Camp Terms and Conditions

    By signing up for Sony’s Virtual Robotics and Coding Program, in addition to the Sony Terms and Conditions https://www.sony.com/electronics/terms-conditions, you acknowledge and agree to the following:



  • You are 18 years of age or older and the age of majority in your state of residence.
  • You are the parent/legal guardian of the camp Attendee.
  • Sony’s Virtual Robotics and Coding Program is for personal and non-commercial use.
  • By signing up, I fully consent to my child participating in this program, including through videoconferencing.
  • My child will have the opportunity to interact with the instructor(s) and other attendees during program sessions – children will be able to ask questions, show their robotic projects and see others’ projects. As a result, participants will be able to see and hear my child (and any others who may appear in the background).
  • In order to participate in the program, I know that I need to have Sony's the KOOV Trial or Educator Kit (at my sole expense) and the KOOV app, which is required to use the KOOV Trial Kit or Educator Kit. I will be prepared to use the KOOV app on my computer to fully participate in the program.   • I understand that I will have to set up a Sony Global Education account to download the KOOV app at: https://www.sony.com/electronics/koov/resources
  • Sony does not control and is not responsible for the behavior of other participants.
  • The video conference tool is Webex. www.webex.com
  • The scheduling tool is Smartsheet. www.smartsheet.com
  • Sony’s Virtual Robotics and Coding Program may provide, or third parties may provide, links or other access to other sites and resources on the Internet. Sony’s Virtual Robotics and Coding Program has no control over such sites and resources and Sony’s Virtual Robotics and Coding Program and Sony are not responsible for and does not endorse such sites and resources. You further acknowledge and agree that Sony’s Virtual Robotics and Coding Program and Sony will not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any content, events, goods or services available on or through any such site or resource. Any dealings you have with third parties found while using Sony’s Virtual Robotics and Coding Program are between you and the third party, and you agree that Sony’s Virtual Robotics and Coding Program and Sony is not liable for any loss or claim that you may have against any such third party.
  • Familiarize yourself with the video conferencing tools before the camp sessions.
  • Internet connection is required.
  • The video conference will be between you, the Attendee and the instructor(s). No other parties are permitted on the video conference.
  • Videotaping or photographing the video conference, or any part of the content therein, is strictly prohibited and not permitted.
  • Ensure your microphone is working, and you and the Attendee are in a setting where you can be seen and heard in a professional or business casual setting.
  • All phones should be silenced during the video conference and kept away from the microphone, webcam, etc.
  • The video conference will begin promptly at the scheduled time, notwithstanding any technical difficulties, thus, it is important to ensure your technical capabilities are working before the scheduled video conference. The video conference shall not be time-extended or rescheduled for any reason.
  • Indemnity & Release – To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release, indemnify, defend and hold Sony and its parent and affiliates and their officers, employees, directors and agent harmless from any from any and all losses, damages, expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, rights, claims, actions of any kind and injury (including death) arising out of or relating to your use of Sony’s Virtual Robotics and Coding Program, your connection to Sony’s Virtual Robotics and Coding Program, your violation of Sony’s terms and conditions, or your violation of any rights of another. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which says: “A general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his favor at the time of executing the release, which if known by him must have materially affected his settlement with the debtor.” If you are a resident of another jurisdiction, you waive any comparable statute or doctrine.
  • DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES – YOUR USE OF SONY’S VIRTUAL ROBOTICS AND CODING PROGRAM IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. SONY’S VIRTUAL SUMMER CAMP IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE EXPRESSLY PROVIDED HEREIN, SONY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. SONY MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT (I) SONY’S VIRTUAL ROBOTICS AND CODING PROGRAM WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, (II) SONY’S VIRTUAL ROBOTICS AND CODING PROGRAM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, (III) THE RESULTS THAT MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE USE OF SONY’S VIRTUAL ROBOTICS AND CODING PROGRAM WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE, OR (IV) THE QUALITY OF ANY PRODUCTS, SERVICES, INFORMATION, OR OTHER MATERIAL PURCHASED OR OBTAINED BY YOU THROUGH SONY’S VIRTUAL ROBOTICS AND CODING PROGRAM WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS.
