Events Code of Conduct
By registering, attending and/or participating in a Sony Electronics’ Events you agree to abide by this Events Code of Conduct. We ask that all attendees help us maintain a welcoming, productive, creative and professional environment by adhering to these guidelines:
- Respectful Communication - Treat everyone with dignity, respect, and fairness, including, but not limited to, other attendees, Sony staff, vendors, participants, guests, speakers, hotel personnel, and carrier personnel.
- Inclusivity - Use inclusive, professional language and be mindful of diverse perspectives. When Sony holds Events, the point is to engage with, inspire and learn from the diverse creatives participating and it’s imperative that everyone is welcomed.
- Non-Discrimination - Avoid discriminatory, offensive, or inappropriate behavior, language or jokes based on race, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or other protected statuses. Jokes premised on these subjects are unprofessional, inappropriate, potentially unlawful and will not be tolerated.
- Harassment-Free Environment - Harassment of any kind, including verbal, physical, sexual, or psychological, will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to unwelcome comments, gestures, innuendo, physical contact, media-sharing, abuse, intimidation, stalking or threats. Any form of sexual harassment, such as unwanted advances or inappropriate behavior, is strictly prohibited. Bullying, intimidation, or creating a hostile environment is not acceptable.
- Professional Behavior - Maintain professionalism in all interactions. Refrain from disruptive behavior, including inappropriate comments or actions that interfere with the Event and/or Other Attendees’ ability to participate fully and comfortably in the Event.
- Physical Boundaries – Everyone has the right to personal space and physical contact should only occur when mutually agreed upon or explicitly welcomed. While social activities like dancing may take place at Events, they should remain appropriate and respectful (e.g., avoid overly intimate or suggestive dancing). Inappropriate physical contact includes, but is not limited to, unsolicited touching or grabbing of another person (other than socially acceptable handshake or polite tap on the shoulder) or excessive, invasive dancing that makes others uncomfortable, or any physical behavior that violates the personal space of others without consent.
- Imbibing - Alcohol consumption should comply with the Event’s guidelines (e.g., useof provided drink tickets, two drink maximum, etc.) and local laws. When alcohol is served, consumption should be at a responsible level.
- Appropriate Attire – Maintain attire that is appropriate for a business setting during Events (e.g., clothing, including without limitation t-shirts and hats, that is free of vulgar statements, offensive or inappropriate graphics).
- Reporting an Incident – If you experience or witness behavior contrary to this Code, immediately report it to Event staff at the event. Be clear about what occurred, who was involved, and when/where the incident happened in order that Sony can appropriately address the matter.
- Respect for Property – Attendees shall respect the property of the venue, hotel, carriers, Event organizers, and Other Attendees. Damage or destruction of property, whether intentional or accidental, is your sole responsibility and liability. You should immediately report such damage or destruction to Event staff.
- Use of another party’s image, etc. - Doxing or posting content on the Internet, or any other manner of media, which includes someone else’s private or personal information is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to sharing about Event participation, social media profile information, images, personal phone numbers, email addresses, addresses, etc. The act of publicly providing personally identifiable information about an individual, via the Internet or any other manner of media, and without their consent, is strictly prohibited. Uploading, posting, streaming, accessing or otherwise sharing any content without the owner’s prior permission may infringe or violate third-party rights/ law and is strictly prohibited.
- Reporting Inappropriate Behavior - Attendees should always feel safe and comfortable during Sony’s Events. If you experience or witness any behavior that you believe violates this Code of Conduct, you are encouraged to report it immediately to Event staff. We take all reports seriously and will act promptly to address them. All parties will be treated with fairness and respect throughout the review process. Final decisions and consequences are Sony’s sole and unappealable discretion.
- Consequences of Violations - Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in immediate removal from the Event, cancellation of participation, ban on participation in future events, and possible further action as deemed appropriate by Sony, in Sony’s sole and unappealable discretion, as well as under Sony policies and/or applicable law.
- After the Event - Taking any action, uploading, posting, streaming or sharing any Event content, language, images or sounds that Sony, in its sole and unappealable discretion, finds offensive, hateful or vulgar, is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, any content or communication that Sony, deems to be racially, ethnically, religiously, or sexually offensive, libelous, defaming, threatening, bullying or stalking.
- Comply with applicable laws.
- The views, opinions expressed, actions and/or behavior by individuals attending and/or participating at Events are solely those of the individuals themselves, and are not made or endorsed by Sony.
Modifications to Terms and Conditions
Sony may add to, change, or remove any of the Terms and Conditions herein at any time, without notice. Any material revisions to the Terms and Conditions will become effective on the date we publish the change. Continued registration, attendance and/or participation in Events after changes to any of the terms, means you agree to be legally bound by the Terms and Conditions as they are revised, updated and/or amended.
Severability
The Terms and Conditions will be enforced to the fullest extent permitted under applicable law. If any provision of the Terms and Conditions is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be contrary to law, the provision will be modified by the court and interpreted so as best to accomplish the objectives of the original provision to the fullest extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions of the Terms and Conditions will remain in full force and effect
Governing Law; Venue
The Terms and Conditions constitute a binding agreement, and failure to comply with the Terms and Conditions may result in legal action. The Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, United States of America, without reference to its conflicts of law rules.
