The ALC-SH186 is the dedicated lens hood for the Sony FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G lens, also identified as the SEL814G.
What type of lens hood is the ALC-SH186?
The ALC-SH186 is a petal-shaped hood with a bayonet-style mount for secure attachment to the front of the FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G.
What are the dimensions and weight of the ALC-SH186?

Yes. The ALC-SH186 is included with the FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G, along with a front cap, rear cap and filter template.
Can I keep the ALC-SH186 attached when shooting at 8mm?
The hood is intended mainly for diagonal-fisheye shooting. At wider settings, especially around 8–11mm, it can vignette or intrude into the circular fisheye image and must be removed.
What are the benefits of using the ALC-SH186 with a fisheye lens?
When used with diagonal-fisheye framing, the ALC-SH186 helps protect the front element of the FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G.
Does the ALC-SH186 work with other Sony lenses?
The ALC-SH186 is intended for the FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G (SEL814G). Don't assume it is compatible with other lenses unless Sony specifically lists that compatibility.
Is the ALC-SH186 the same as the front lens cap?
No. The hood and the front lens cap are separate accessories, and a front cap is supplied with the FE 8-14mm F3.5 Fisheye G in addition to the ALC-SH186.
