Easier capture with real-time subject recognition

AI-assisted AF detects form, pose and movement

With its innovative AI processing unit, the α7R V has improved autofocus even further. It uses learned human forms and poses to recognize not only people’s eyes but also their body and head positions, so you can lock onto and track even a subject who is facing away from the camera or wearing a mask.

Assistance for accurate focusing

Helpful features to make focusing easier

Even under conditions where manual focus can be difficult, the Peaking function makes it easier to check the subject’s focus onscreen by enlarging the image and adding colour to the outline of the focused area. Focus Map makes differences in the depth of field more clearly visible during movie recording.

4-axis multi-angle LCD monitor offers unprecedented monitoring flexibility

Flexibility for easier selfies, high- and low-angle shots

The α7R V’s 4-axis multi-angle monitor provides unrestricted angle adjustment both horizontally and vertically. This makes it easy to check the image on the LCD panel during or after a shoot regardless of camera placement or orientation, even while you are seated. The vari-angle LCD monitor on other models2 opens horizontally for still and video shooting, with similarly easier viewing that makes selfie shots as well as high- and low-angle shots easier to frame.
